Daniella Levine Cava executed the holiday gesture at the Cuban-style Latin Cafe 2000 in the heart of Miami’s Little Havana neighborhood. “This animal is guiltless. She deserves this act of mercy. Her criminal record is spotless,” declared Levine Cava in a speech with clear references to the vast quantity of pardons issued from the start of the beginning of a current administration. “If we disregard eating half a dozen apples per day,” Levine Cava continued. “I hope she experiences a lengthy and joyful existence away from worry.” This ceremony, which both honors and questions the area's customary feast of eating roast pork during the holidays, was founded to replicate the yearly bird sparing at the White House. The pig, contributed by a first responder, was named for the current slang trend of young people exclaiming “six-seven” – deriving from a musical verse – often without clear purpose. The craze became so ubiquitous that a major dictionary recently declared “six-seven” its 2025 word of the year. A Peaceful Retirement This particular pig is now set to enjoy its days at a farm sanctuary “away from grills and cookware”, according to the organizers' announcement. “This swine clemency has become a cherished method to begin the festive period,” said the cafe owner, in a decidedly positive message. “It captures the character of Miami: happy, diverse, and grounded in customs that foster togetherness. Every time, we are proud to celebrate heritage and mercy in a way distinctively Miamian.” Guests enjoyed a vegetarian menu of spinach fritters and Cuban coffee as they toasted the swine's new lease on life.
