The Red Bull team has confirmed significant changes for the 2026 F1 campaign, moving up French driver Isack Hadjar to its A-team and awarding British teenager Arvid Lindblad his debut F1 drive. Lindblad, who is of Swedish and Indian heritage, will be team-mate to Kiwi driver Liam Lawson at the junior outfit Racing Bulls. This reshuffling results in Japan's Yuki Tsunoda being without a drive following a five-year stint. A Star in the Making Arvid Lindblad took part in FP1 for the Silverstone and Mexican Grands Prix in the current season. Lindblad has been marked out as a potential future star by Red Bull since he was 12 years old. Discussing the company's young driver programme, a key advisor previously said that Lindblad "seems extremely gifted", highlighting his "pure speed". Red Bull prepared a programme since last year to ready Lindblad for his likely F1 debut in 2026, featuring runs in Grand Prix practice at Silverstone and Mexico City. Lindblad stated it was a "dream come true", commenting: "2026 will be a huge step, and I know there's plenty to absorb, but I'm prepared to collaborate with the team and meet the challenge. I can't wait to get started." He has won two races in F2 this year and is sixth in the championship ahead of the final round in Abu Dhabi. The Frenchman's Chance The French driver enjoys his maiden top-three finish in F1, achieved at the Zandvoort race this season. Hadjar's F1 career started in difficult fashion when he spun out during the warm-up lap of the first Australian Grand Prix. But, from that point, he has been one of the most impressive newcomers of the year. His performances featured an excellent top-three result at the Dutch Grand Prix, and he sits 10th in the championship. The team principal said: "Hadjar has displayed great maturity and demonstrated to be a quick learner. Crucially, he has the raw speed that is the number one requirement in this sport. We believe he can excel next to Max." Hadjar described it "a fantastic step" and said he felt "ready". The Lawson Decision To partner Lindblad at Racing Bulls, Red Bull have chosen Lawson over Tsunoda. Lawson began the season with the main team but was moved back early in the year. He has settled back in at the junior outfit with some strong performances, persuading Red Bull he deserves another season. Tsunoda, meanwhile, loses his place after a difficult season. His best result is a sixth place, and he has accumulated a small fraction of the team's points total. These announcements confirm that there remains no place on the Red Bull academy for Ireland's Alex Dunne, who will continue in F2 next season.
