A Standout Performer

Half a dozen games into their maiden elite season after seven years ago, the Black Cats are soaring in a European spot. It marks their best opening to a Premier League campaign in seven decades. A significant portion of this positive form can be attributed to their new recruits, with especially the outstanding Mukiele – widely regarded as the second-highest statistical player this season.

Signed for only 12 million pounds in the off-season, the former Leipzig centre-back was given his chance when a teammate picked up an injury in the second match of the campaign. The prime-aged player has embraced the task, producing a string of standout displays. In his handful of appearances, the club have earned eight points and conceded a mere very few strikes. His strength and athleticism have been central to the team's fast beginning.

He attacks the ball assertively (sitting high up for balls cleared per 90 minutes in the division), wins his duels (placed ninth for challenges per match among backs), and is one of a select group of seven individuals in the division who hasn't been passed by a dribbler. The Creative Spark

Kudus has wasted no time making an impact after his big-money transfer. Only one player has a higher number of goal creations than Kudus (three) in the division this term. Having been used in various roles at his old side, he has been placed on the right flank of the attack and is flourishing.

One quality that Kudus has retained from his time at his previous team is his skill in one-on-one duels. He is number one for completed dribbles in the English division and is just second to a world-class forward in Europe's major divisions.

Despite his relentless forward contributions, he remains diligent in his responsibilities at the back. He ranks among the top three in the side for challenges per match. If Kudus can add a handful of goals, his manager might just have a complete player on his hands.

Hugo Ekitiké

Of all the stars brought in in a massive summer spending spree, the young striker has stood out. The attacker has adapted to the club's style seamlessly, with a handful of strikes and one assist in his first nine outings.

Ekitiké has embodied the belief that costs are meaningless on the field. He was not intimidated by the signing of a fellow striker for a British record fee. Instead, he has welcomed the competition, staking his claim to front the offensive line. He stated, "We play at such a major institution, and I find it hard to believe any big clubs playing with merely one striker in their roster. It is beneficial that competition is here. For me, at my stage of career, I have many things to enhance and absorb."

Ekitike is occupying a team with a attacker who bagged a prolific tally in the previous two top-flight terms, but he is posing his boss a difficult choice. That shows exactly how remarkable he has been so far this season.

Florian Wirtz

Matters have not entirely gone to plan for Wirtz this campaign. The expensive signing is has not yet find his feet in his new colours. The player has not scored or assisted in several matches and a club legend has raised doubts, stating: "I don't think the structure of the squad is optimal, and the evident one that catches the eye is Florian Wirtz."

Awaiting Breakthrough

Elanga joined in the window with plenty of hope after his major switch. His record at his old side was steady: 31 attacking returns in seventy-four top-flight games. To date, however, he has failed to reproduce that return at his new club. Several outings have come and gone without a strike or assist.

The manager has been measured in his selection of the club's third most expensive addition. Regardless of starting the initial couple fixtures of the term, he is yet to start an additional top-flight fixture, with a teammate preferred while Elanga adapts his new environment.
