Details of the Grave Allegations The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of numerous acts of sexual assault – some of which involve some against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021. One senior prosecutor stated, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a detailed and complex police inquiry, carefully reviewing the available evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.” The Police Inquiry These allegations follow what police described as a “complex investigation” into alleged assaults at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital. The defendant will appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January. List of Offences The charging documents said the forty-five sexual offences include: Fifteen counts of assault. Seventeen counts of assault by penetration. 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen. 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen. One count of attempted penetrative assault.
