24 Nigerian Young Scholars Liberated Over a Week Following Abduction

A total of two dozen Nigerian female students taken hostage from the learning facility over a week ago have been released, the country's president announced.

Attackers stormed the Government Girls Comprehensive Senior Secondary School located in Kebbi State on 17 November, fatally wounding a worker and seizing 25 students.

Nigerian President the president commended law enforcement regarding their "immediate reaction" to the incident - while precise conditions of the girls' release were not specified.

The continent's largest country has suffered numerous cases of kidnappings during current times - including over 250 children abducted from religious educational institution last Friday still missing.

Through an announcement, a special adviser within the government verified that each young woman abducted from the school within the region were now safe, mentioning that the incident caused similar abductions in two other regional provinces.

Over numerous youths have been abducted from Nigerian schools over the past decade, during which 276 girls were abducted during the notorious Chibok mass abduction.

Recently, a minimum of 300 children and staff were abducted from a learning facility, a Catholic boarding school, located within Niger state.

Fifty of those captured at learning institution were able to flee based on information from the Christian Association - but at least numerous individuals haven't been located.

The primary Catholic cleric within the area has stated that Nigeria's government is undertaking "insufficient measures" to rescue captured persons.
